Bug Jam 26 – Essential info, don’t miss out!

Last year’s event was a total SELL OUT! Make sure you get your tickets in advance to avoid disappointment.

Bug Jam is bigger and busier than ever – anyone who was at last year’s show will know all about it! In order to give VW fans the priority they deserve at Bug Jam in 2012, Santa Pod Raceway have announced a series of measures to make sure that getting into this year’s event is as straightforward as possible. WHAT'S ON AT BUG JAM 26:

DRAG RACING
With qualifying starting on Saturday and eliminations on Sunday, you're sure to see plenty of the fastest, maddest VWs in Europe! Wheelies and close racing are guaranteed!
The VWDRC and Outlaw Flat Four DRC will be joined by the 7 second doorslammers of Super Modified, the road legal hot rods of Street Eliminator, the vintage Fords of Outlaw Anglia, and Sportsman ET.

VW RUN WHAT YA BRUNG
Get your own VW on the track on Friday (£15) and Saturday (£20), unlimited runs and a full performance print out for each run. Don't forget to bring your driving licence if you want to use the track.

RWYB competition with classes - Everyone signing on for RWYB will be put into classes to find the fastest Aircooled Bug, Aircooled Van, Karmann Ghias etc.

There will be a hard-standing RWYB paddock in the pits for people bringing vehicles on trailers, just ask for a RWYB Paddock pass at the gate when you arrive.

Latest: The Shockwave Nitro Funny Car will be making three passes this weekend.

VW SHOW & SHINE - TWO DAYS!
Saturday morning will be for rat-look and military, and Sunday will be for the shiny ones and show cars. All VWs welcome as usual, and trophies across a range of classes. Free entry and prizes from Autoglym.

MUSIC
Bug Jam once again hosts four music arenas including the Main Stage, on both Friday and Saturday evenings, catering for all tastes from indie and dance djs through to live bands and tribute acts.

The Bug Jam 25 music line-up so far is:

Friday: The Wholls and The Complete Stone Roses on the main stage with Haçienda in the Dance Zone and Carwash with Wham!Duran in the Retro Zone.

Saturday: The Blind Hearts, The Current and Simon & Oscar from Ocean Colour unplugged on the main stage with Propaganda indie night in the Retro Zone and Super Hero themed night in the Dance Zone.

DAYTIME - LIVE STAGE
You don't have to wait till the evening for the entertainment to start at Bug Jam with The Live Stage busy during the day on Friday, Saturday and Sunday!

COMEDY
There will be a line up of top comedians on Friday & Saturday this year, including up and coming new acts and established pros to tickle your ribs.

CAMPING AT BUG JAM
Camping is included with all weekend tickets bought in advance or on the gate. As well as General Camping there is Club Camping, Family Camping and Quiet Camping. Please ask for a pass at the gate if you wish to go into Family Camping, you will need kids with you. Quiet Camping will be signposted and noise curfews will be strictly enforced.

JET FUNNY CAR
Get ready to experience a Jet Funny Car when Martin Hill and the world record breaking Fireforce 3 light up the track.

BAJA & BUGGY COURSE
Take your off-road dub for some fun in the dirt. A short grass and dirt track will include fun corners and gentle bumps to let you get your kicks and show off your ride. Free entry for all suitable vehicles. Hosted by the Bajaclub.co.uk.

MONSTER TRUCKS
Santa Pod's own Podzilla will be joined by Swamp Thing in a high flying display of car crushing mayhem on Saturday and Sunday. Get ready to cheer as Novas and Saxos get what's coming.

BMX RAMP
Pro riders will be putting on regular demonstration shows on the Bug Jam BMX ramp over the weekend, with the ramp also open for public sessions each day.

BUG JAM’S GOT TALENT
We’re giving contestants 3 minutes each to show off their talent on the Bug Jam main stage. The great thing is, YOU pick what your talent is! Details on the Bug Jam's Got Talent page.

ROCKET BIKE
Eric Teboul the fastest man in the world on two wheels will be hurtling down the strip on his unique Rocket Bike.

JET BEETLE
Ronnie Picardo's flame-throwing Blue Max Beetle uses the original chassis and body panels and has full working electrics and MOT.

WHEELIE SPLIT
Ronnie will also be bringing along the latest addition to his fleet of show vehicles, so look out for a wheelieing split!

FREESTYLE MOTOCROSS
There will be big air jumps and tricks from Freestyle Motocross riders.

TRIPLE SPACE WHEEL
The Vander brothers from South Africa started out on the Flying Trapeze before performing on their Space Wheels.

If so, we’ve got just the thing for you on Friday evening, anyone can play - young, old, rocker or raver. We've got an exciting new drag-racing-style knock-out format to pick the winner, so get there early if you want to compete for our awesome trophy! Free entry to play or spectate.

STUNT DISPLAYS
Top international stunt driver Terry Grant will be at Bug Jam putting his fleet of cars through their paces and attempting to set a new world record.

HUMAN POWERED RACING
Human Powered Racing has been a big hit at Big Bang, so now it comes to Bug Jam… but with a twist! There are now four trophies: One for the fastest bicycle, one for the fastest skate (boots and boards), one for the fastest runner, and one for the most imaginative entry. It’s a simple race from the start-line to the finish-line and back, but no engines are permitted!

T2D Type 3 Live Build
T2D, the Cambridge based VW legends, will be performing one of a live project car build. The build will be a demonstration of live automotive theatre as the team battle to restore a tired and dilapidated Volkswagen to its former glory, adding their own unique brand of custom tricks along the way. JET DRAGSTER
The Split Second Jet Dragster will be blasting down the track driven by Julian Webb.

BACK TO '89
The Back to '89 nostalgia display showcases the trophy winning cars of the past and shows how the scene has developed. Details on the Nostalgia Display page.

RADIO CONTROLLED CARS
A variety of 1/10th scale electric radio controlled VW cars including drift cars will be racing on a special track where the public will be able to test their skills along with the experts.

MONSTER TRUCK RIDES
Red Dragon will be at Bug Jam giving monster truck passenger rides in between shows in the Live Action Arena.

FLYPASTS
The Battle of Britain Memorial Flight will be making a fly past at Bug Jam with a WWII Dakota on Saturday.

2 SEATER DRAGSTER
For the ultimate thrill ride, the 7 second Santa Pod 2 Seater Dragster will be running with passenger rides available. Details at www.santapod.com.
